Bar & Bat Mitzvah Celebrations

Mazel Tov!

First please allow us to offer our congratulations to the bar mitzvah boy or bat mitzvah girl on their coming of age! Not only is it very important for them as a rite of passage but the good news for Mum & Dad is that tradition states that this is the point at which they will start to take responsibility for their own actions – at least to a point anyway!

The second bit of good news is that here at Showtime Events we take the planning of traditional Jewish celebrations all in our stride. Over the years we have provided tailored hosting & DJ entertainment for many bar & bat mitzvahs and we would love to do the same for you & yours.

Celebration Must-Haves

So let’s be honest, sometimes you shouldn’t mess around with a tried and tested formula. A bar or bat mitzvah celebration must always contain certain elements and build in all the components that the religious traditions dictate.

In the same way that we would expect the bar mitzvah boy to be hoisted up by the crowd on his chair and everyone to dance around him (in fact we would demand it!), we would also expect to cover our heads, host the blessing of the Challah and say Grace After Meals if required. The important thing to realise is that we’ll take care of it all, leaving you to enjoy the party!

‘Informally Formal’ Hosting

I know, it sounds like a contradiction and in some ways it is, but one of the key things to get right at this signature event is the compering or hosting. We think that a modern celebration should strike the right balance between respecting the traditions of the religion whilst providing the high energy party that the family & friends are waiting for!

As part of our service, our expert team will work with you to create the perfect running order for your function so that all the traditional elements are included within a more contemporary, highly energetic event all hosted to perfection! Are you ready?

Showtime Top Tip

Younger guests will always want to be up and doing things, so plan a highly energy interactive event that keeps them entertained. Failing that, some BIG tunes and a candy buffet later on will keep them busy once the older guests have had a boogie!

Music Maestro…

Once we have a plan for your function we can start to get those special music requests in place for the important parts of the evening:

• Think about a huge entrance track for the bar mitzvah boy or bat mitzvah girl
• Decide whether you would like some traditional Israeli music between courses – everyone’s always got room for a little Hava Nagila and the night wouldn’t be complete without it!
• Family members & friends will always make speeches too, so how about an intro track for them? Separate PA systems are also available for speeches if required.

Once the formalities are out of the way, it’s time to hit the dance floor. Think about a list of requests that you’d love to hear. Also, why not give your guests an input into the playlist by using our online music planner? No dull iPod playlists here, just your fav party tunes all neatly packaged up by your specialist DJs. It all comes as standard when it’s Showtime.

Game On!

The key to a BIG night is having loads of entertainment elements coming together to keep the crowd buzzing and the audience involved too! Why not create your event with a specific theme, style or music genre in mind and leave the Showtime team to whip up a storm!

I can see it now, the bar mitzvah boy busting some moves in an MJ dance-off with his best friend or the bar mitzvah girl enjoying a ‘Frozen’ karaoke session to wow the crowd. Even Dad can get involved showing off as a ‘Rock God’ with our inflatable guitars.

If you do want to inject some extra party buzz into the night, why not add some of our extras onto your booking – maybe a BIG bubble machine or two, confetti launchers, some nightclub-style lighting or our amazing ‘Craic in a Box’ party pack.
